The Strange Glory of Easter

Jesus is the dictionary in which we look up the meaning of words. When we look up the glory in Jesus we find – are we ever ready for this? – obscurity, rejection and humiliation, incomprehension and misapprehension, a sacrificial life and an obedient death: the bright presence of God backlighting what the world despises and ignores.

Yup, me too. And, often, so different a path to glory than I want to be called on to!

As I've seen throughtout the Bible, and in Jesus' life, and even sometimes in our own lives... glory usually comes with a pretty big sacrifice.

Hmm, theology of the cross...I'd do a bit of study in that area if I wasn't so aprehensive about what I would find lol. Is there any way to reconcile this with western Christianity as we know it?
